Policies and Procedures

Tuition and Fees

The Dance Studio 2024-25 Season is Sept-June. Monthly fees are due THE FIRST of each month from Sept-May.  Once you’ve registered you may check your balance due by logging into your account at thestudiodirector.com/thedancestudio/portal.sd or by calling (620) 388-2205.  There is a $30 charge for returned checks.  Returned check fees and balance due must be paid in cash.  PAYMENTS CAN BE GIVEN IN CLASS, DROPPED IN MY MAILBOX (IN MY DOOR), OR MAILED TO 523 W. 3rd.  Please make all checks payable to The Dance Studio or TDS_A $5 late fee, each month, will be assessed on all past due accounts.

Enrollment

Enrollment requires completion of enrollment form for each student, payment for shoes if needed and the first month’s tuition.  Enrollment is for a full studio year (Sept.-June).

Withdrawal

Class drops will take into effect at the end of the month in which it is made.  Fees are not pro-rated and must be paid in full (unless due to illness or injury) If you withdrawal from classes, you must do so in writing.  There are no refunds of tuition for classes you’re scheduled to attend whether or not you attend the class. 

Costume and Recital Fees

A fee of $25 per student, per class is due in November.  ALL COSTUME AND RECITAL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.  The remaining balance plus recital fee($11 per family) will be due in December/Jan. Costumes on average, range from $50-$75 a costume.

Attendance

If during recital time(Jan-June), your child misses more than 2 classes a month there will be a mandatory private lesson at the cost of $10.  If your child misses an entire month they will be automatically dropped from the class, regardless of costumes, if ordered.  There are no refunds, credits or deductions for missed lessons.  Make-up classes can be taken with instructor’s permission for classes Sept. – Dec.

Inclement weather

If Pratt schools do not have school due to weather TDS will not have classes. 

Dress Code

Required dancewear and dance shoes must be worn to ALL CLASSES.  Girl tumblers: MUST WEAR A LEOTARD AND HAIR UP.  Boys must wear comfortable clothing that are not too loose.  Dancers:  MUST WEAR PROPER DANCE ATTIRE; NO JEANS, nothing that keeps them from performing what is asked of them during class and hair needs to be out of their face. Shoes will be ordered after the 2nd week of classes.  Shoes ordered after this date will have an added shipping charge.  Please put your child’s name in their shoes.

Rehearsal/Recital

Rehearsal is Friday, May 30th  and Recital is Saturday, May 31st.  Information pertaining to the rehearsal/recital will be sent out in April.  The Dance Studio reserves the right to change these dates.
